Logging In

Returning customers who have already registered
with the site should log in on our login page with your e-mail
address and password. You can link to our login page at any time
from the link shown, which appears on every page. Before an
order can be processed all customers will be required to either
log-in, or to register as a new customer.
To register as a customer you are required to enter your details in
the fields provided.
You are required to complete your title, name, address,
postcode, and telephone number, which should include your
regional code.
Email Address: enter your e-mail address, for example:
name@yahoo.com.
Password: enter your chosen password into the two boxes
provided. Your password should be easy for you to remember (for
security reasons please do not write down your password or reveal
it to anyone else).
Mailings: We would like to contact you at appropriate times
with special offers and news from Tanners. You can choose whether
you would like to receive our postal mailings and emails, only
emails, or no mail at all. (You can also change your preference on
the web site at any time).
When you have completed the form select the 'Register me'
button at the bottom of the form to conclude your
registration.
Once you have logged in, you will receive the options to go
shopping or view/modify your account information.

You can change your personal details, including
your mailing preference, at any time by going to the Your
Account menu, and choosing Personal Details.
Tanners online shop offers many ways to do
your shopping:
Choose a region or category from the menu on
the left hand side of the screen and click to expand and reveal sub
categories. Categories with a symbol have sub categories; clicking
on the categories without will take you to a list of our wines from
that region, or complementary products in that category in the case
of Accessories!

If you already know which grapes you like, this
handy search will help you to instantly locate the wines you want!
Choose from our extensive list, and if you like, you can choose an
area as well. To browse the wines from a large area all at once,
choose from the Region list.

Click on the title to view the full details of
the product, including for some wines reviews featured in the
recent press.
Your Wish
List
You can create a wish list of the
things you would like to buy, a ‘fantasy cellar’ if you
like, and then treat yourself, perhaps realising one bottle with
every order, and/or use it to store your favourite wines and then
order them regularly – the choice is yours. On every product
detail page, for items in stock, you will see an ‘add to wish
list’ icon beneath the ‘add to basket’
button.
Clicking on ‘add to wish list’ will
save the item to your wish list at the price shown. (Please note
that if you try to add/transfer this saved item from your wish list
to your basket at a later date, the price may change and update, or
the item may no longer be available.)
You can view your wish list after adding an item to it, by clicking
on the red text link that appears telling you what you’ve
just added
or by clicking on the link shown which appears
on every page. You can also access it through the ‘Your Wish
List’ link on your account pages, when you are a registered
user and logged in to your account.
You can add individual items to your basket
using the add link for the item. Alternatively, use the transfer
all button to move your entire wishlist to your basket. To clear an
item, use the remove button against the individual item, or use the
clear wish list button to wipe your entire wishlist.
Don't worry about not being able to choose quantities; you will be
able to alter the quantity of the items once they are in your
basket.
As you browse around the site and add products
to your basket, you will be taken to your basket page. You will
also notice that the value of your order and the quantity of items
making up your order will appear in the top right of the screen,
this is your 'Mini Basket'. You can click on the 'View
Basket' link at any time to view the entire contents of your
basket.
At your main basket, you can change the
quantity or delete items from your order. Once you are happy with
the items you have in your basket, click the 'proceed to
checkout' link to proceed with your order.
Should you wish to add other items to your order, please choose the
‘continue shopping’ link, which will return you to the
category you were previously in, or choose a category from the top
of the page.

Once you have passed into our secure order
process you will be met with a sequence of pages to complete, as
follows:
Stage 1 - Log-in/register
Here you will be asked to log-in with your email address and
password, or if you haven’t already registered with Tanners
you will be asked to give us your personal details and choose a
password. If you have already logged in before getting to this
stage of your order, you will not be shown this page.
Stage 2 – Delivery address
At this stage you will be asked to choose an address to send your
order to from a drop-down list. The list will contain your own
address and the address of anyone you have sent items to in the
past. If you would like to send your order to an address that does
not appear in the list, please choose 'add new address' and enter
the recipient's details here. If you would like to send something
to an address that appears in the list, yet you would like to make
a change to this address, choose the recipient from the list and
then choose 'edit address' and make the necessary changes. You can
also enter any special instructions for delivery on this page, or
if you would like to add a message to a gift order enter it here.
If you would like us to leave your package with a neighbour, or in
a particular place if you are out, please make sure to note this
here.
Stage 3 – Payment information
The payment screen requires you to enter the details of your debit
or credit card. You must enter the name and address of the
cardholder. These fields will automatically be populated with the
details you entered when you registered – if these are
incorrect please choose another set of cardholder details from the
list. The addresses in the list can be edited in exactly the same
way as those in your address book at the delivery details
stage.
Stage 4 – Summary
This page shows you a summary of all your order details. Please
check that these are all correct, before clicking ‘complete
my order’ to submit your order to Tanners. Should any details
on the summary page be incorrect please use the back button within
the page (not on your browser) to move back through the order
process and correct those details.
Stage 5 - 3DSecure Authentification *NEW*
3D Secure is a new security measure now
required by
your bank. You must take this extra step to complete
your order, which protects your card from unauthorised use
online. When you click on the "place order" icon bottom right on
the Order Confirmation/Confirm Order page you will see a window
open up entitled 3DSecure Authentication. The onscreen instructions
will take you through what you need to do.
When submitting your card details, depending on the card type you
have entered, you will be redirected to a Visa or MasterCard page.
These pages are on your bank’s secure servers and at no stage
will Tanners be able access this information.
- If you have already registered your card for 3D Secure, you
will be asked to enter your 3D Secure password.
- If you have not registered your card before, you will have the
option to do so, there and then.
- If you have not registered your card and do not wish to do so
you may have the option to bypass the process depending on your
card type and your bank. Some banks are forcing mandatory sign up
to the scheme so as to upgrade your security to the highest level
with immediate effect.
Please do sign up to this new
security initiative - it is for your protection when
shopping online.
Stage 6 – Confirmation
This page confirms that you have successfully placed your order
with Tanners. Please take note of the order number given to you at
this stage and use it in any further correspondence you may have
with us. Please print out the printer friendly summary from this
page for your own records. For security reasons, once you have
completed your order we advise you to log-out of the site.
