This is a very consistent wine with plenty of soft, open, easy-going blackcurrant fruit and hints of spice and vanilla oak on the finish. The estate is at Begadan in the northern Médoc and is owned and run by Jean-Michel Lapalu.

Consisting of some 43 hectares of vines, with an average age of over 35 years, Château Patache d'Aux is situated in the northern Médoc at Bégadan on stoney chalk limestone soils. Owned by Jean-Michel Lapalu, the wines are consistent in quality and have good fruit. They mature well for the medium term and are, on average, at their best 5-8 years after the vintage.
