From deep red soils just south of the town, this is proper Nuits-St-Georges: dark, masculine and brooding! When drunk young it certainly needs decanting but becomes gloriously complex with a good few years of bottle age.

![]() ![]() ![]() Producer Profile...
Cousins Christian and Pierre now run the Henri Gouges domain, which was one of the earliest to sell wines in bottle, and have 14 hectares of vines, mainly in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Their methods are traditional and very much hands-off. Production is organic and the wines are exceptionally well-structured needing time to mature.
