The Méo Camuzet estate comprises a wonderful constellation of 1er cru sites from which are fashioned silky wines using plenty of new oak. This estate has been catapulted to fame only since the late 1980s, the vineyards previously being leased out on share-cropping agreements and the wines being sold in bulk by Jean-Nicolas Méo's father, a politician in Charles de Gaulle's cabinet. Business school trained Nicolas Méo is in charge with Christian Faurois as manager.
