Established in Beaune in 1750, their cellars are in one of the bastions of Beaune's town walls. Chanson was taken by Champagne Bollinger in 1999. With the will and financial clout, Chanson has been turned around and an internal culture has been established of being, once again, a leading domaine. They have 40 hectares of vines including 25 hectares of prime vineyards in the Beaune applellation. Chanson also claims to have the highest ratio of domaine to négociant wine of any of the major merchants. Vineyard manager Jean-Luc Parent has introduced hard pruning, organic methods where possible and separate vinification of different plots.
