From a stony vineyard that overlooks famous Corton- Charlemagne, this is a deceptively powerful wine, not big in colour or stature, but with a perfect poise of red fruit, hints of violets and a silky structure. Ages well too.

Thirteen hectares of vines owned by the de Nicolay family since 1834 who are distantly related to the Chandons of Moët fame. The estate is run by Nadine with help from her daughter Claude and son François. The wines are elegant and very stylish exhibiting good terroir. The reds see no new oak at all, resulting in Pinot Noir with startling clarity and definition, the whites also have an equal purity and reflection of terroir but do see new oak.
