This lower vineyard borders Meursault-Charmes and its deep soils produce a similar, riper, spicier wine together with great concentration derived from Sauzet's low-yielding almost 50 year-old vines.

![]() ![]() ![]() Producer Profile...
Etienne Sauzet founded the domaine, based in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, in 1903 with 12 hectares. In 1974 his grand-daughter, Jeannine married Gérard Boudot and they took over completely in 1975. Since then the reputation of Sauzet has grown hugely. Inheritance resulted in the loss of four hectares, so the Boudot now buy in enough grapes to make up the balance. Anthony Hanson in his book 'Burgundy' describes Gérard Boudot as "One of the most dazzling white-winemakers in Burgundy".
