Nicolas Potel is a négociant with access to many top vineyards up and down the Côte d'Or. He is the son of Gérard Potel who was manager and a shareholder of La Pousse d'Or. Nicolas' reputation is growing by the vintage and his skills are undisputed. He aims for purity and terroir in his wines. Nicolas used to produce a staggering selection of different wines, nowadays he is focussing on a smaller number enabling him to monitor each more closely. Falling out with his previous backers he has relinquished his name and set up again in Beaune, in lovely old buildings kitted out with the most modern, eco-friendly facilities Nicolas can source. Nicolas's merchant house is called ‘Roche de Bellène’, Bellène being the Middle Ages name of Beaune, and is growing in reputation with every vintage.
