Made from grapes that are harvested when the temperature is minus 10 degrees centigrade, this unctuous dessert wine has aromas of apricots and honey. The palate is very sweet but beautifully balanced with racy acidity.

Château des Charmes is situated in the viticultural area of Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, Canada. The vineyards are lie just to the south of Lake Ontario and just to the north of the Niagara escarpment. This estate was founded in 1978 by Paul-Michel Bosc a Frenchman who arrived in Canada in the 60’s. His ancestors had vineyards in Alsace and French Algeria. Paul Bosc graduated from Dijon University having studied oenology. He was the first grower in Canada to plant solely vitis vinifera. His son Paul-André and Paul-André’s wife, Michèle, now work with Paul-Michel. The vineyards are run with the environment in mind without the use of herbicides as well as returning the organic by-products of the winemaking process to the vineyards.
