The near legendary Lebanon estate was founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930 and is now run by his son, Serge. The 180 hectares of vineyards are at an altitude of 3,000 feet in the Bekaa Valley, in a region with a 6000 year old wine producing history, started by the Phoenicians. The vines are grown on a gravely soil with a limestone base. The composition of the blend varies from one year to the next, giving Château Musar a different character and identity each year.
