  This unique, full-flavoured dry wine has a very distinct aroma and taste of pine resin. It dates back over 2,700 years to when wine amphorae were sealed with pine resin to stop them spoiling, which in turn infused a pine flavour.

Boutari has been credited with the revival of the wine industry in Greece. Based in Thessaloniki they have been able to make use of the expertise that came in to the area in the shape of refugees from Plovdiv in Bulgaria. With 50 hectares of vineyards dating from the 1970s quality is good.
