A concentrated wine which comes from the Ginestra vineyard, one of the best crus of the Barolo area. Twenty year-old vines give extra complexity and a density of black fruits, liquorice and typical tar flavours. A superb wine!

The Conterno family have been growing vines in Piedmont for four generations since the original Paolo Conterno began planting in 1886. Their seven hectares of land is centred around the renowned Barolo vineyard of Ginestra, the source for their excellent single vineyard Barolo and one of the prettiest corners of Piedmont. The family also cultivate local specialities Barbera and Dolcetto. Fourth generation Giorgio Conterno runs the modest estate with the help of his sister, father and mother. He told us "our style is traditional but with innovations in winemaking you can drink the wines much earlier than you could ten years ago."
