The Antinori family has been making wine for over six hundred years, since Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. Throughout 26 generations, the family has always managed the business making innovative, courageous choices, whilst respecting tradition and the land. They have been a major force in getting Italian wine noticed and in bringing about regulation changes so that the quality of the wine from Chianti improved. Their hectares are split between Chianti and Orvieto. Today Marchese Piero Antinori is director of the company, assisted by his three daughters, Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, who are personally involved in the business.
