Pierre Clavel's vineyards are in La Méjanelle, one of the finer regions in the Côteaux du Languedoc. The soils are stony, open ground not dissimilar to the soils of Châteauneuf, and produce wines of real character. He leases 36 hectares but has recently managed to buy 8 hectares of his own.
