This famous estate belonged to the English crown from 1152 - 1435. Eventually it was bought by the Lur-Saluces family in 1785 and only recently, amid much controversy, has been bought by the large LVMH group. The wines remain unequalled in quality and class. There are 110 hectares under vine magnificently overlooking surrounding premier crus classés' vineyards from Yquem's hilltop position. Capabable of ageing gracefully for decade upon decade, upon decade, Yquem is an almost magical combination of power, luxuriousness and richness. There is no other in the wine world to surpass Yquem.
