![]() ![]() A great all-round dry sherry, Tanners Fino makes as good an aperitif on a winter's day as it does an accompaniment to a picnic in a baking hot summer. Either way it is best served well chilled and keeps in the fridge for a few weeks.

Originally part of the Rumasa group, the bodega then passed to a group of investors before returning to the Ruiz-Mateos family and is now part of their Garvey group, although it is a stand-alone operation under the guidance of MD Rafael Veas specialising in top quality wines. The idea is to combine tradition, backed up by some excellent reserves of old wines and top quality vineyard sites, with a modern approach to marketing and presentation. The vineyard is 250 hectares of prime Albariza soil at Gibalbin in the Jerez Superior region with the bodega in the heart of Jerez, its soleras founded on fine old wines sourced from cellars throughout the region. The project began in 2003 with a total renovation of the bodega and processes are controlled right through from vineyard to bottle.
