A classy, silky wine with plenty of new oak on the nose and palate but very well balanced with juicy red and black fruit and fine tannin. Quite a large estate for Pomerol, Moulinet is situated on the northern part of the plateau of Pomerol

Moulinet is one of the most important properties in Pomerol because at eighteen hectares it is one of the largest. It has passed through several wealthy Libourne families and is today owned by Marie-José Moueix and Nathalie Moueix-Guillot. The vineyard is planted 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc and the vines average thirty years of age. Great care is taken to ensure only healthy grapes are used and vinification is parcel by parcel. Fifty percent new oak is used and the resulting wine is classy and elegant.
