Sutton Grange estate's 12.5 hectares of vineyards are located in the cooler, southern edge of the Bendigo region in Victoria on the granitic foothills of Mount Alexander. The estate already enjoyed a worldwide reputation for its thoroughbred horse racing facility, but in 1998 the first vines were planted and this boutique winery born. Under the guidance of Burgundian winemaker Gilles Lapalus, the Fairbank wines bear markedly French influences, emphasising terroir, finesse and a savoury quality over explosive, sweet fruit character.
