The excellent Lyrebird and Sunnycliff wines are made by the Wingara Wine Group from their estate at Red Cliffs, near Mildura in the Murray Valley of North West Victoria. Here they have 350 hectares (865 acres) of vines growing a wide variety of grape varieties, both black and white. The climate in this inland part of Australia is reliably warm while the great Murray River which flows down from th Australian Alps brings life to the region. Wingara now belongs to Freixenet, the Spanish Cava producer.
