The new oak influence is very subtle and contributes most obviously to the structure and complexity of this wine without masking the fruit. The wine has a good mineral quality and great ageing potential. A very Burgundian style.

The first vineyard, Elms, was carefully selected by Stewart Elms in 1991 and planted the following year. Every effort has been made to match grape varieties to soil types and the area has many tiny microclimates that make this easier to do. The Elms now extends to some 14 hectares.
