Known as 'Menthe Pastille' in France, Crème de Menthe was invented by Bruno Giffard's grandfather using a strain of mint he found in Surrey! Originally intended for medicinal use, it is now used in many cocktails and recipes.

Emile Giffard was a dispensing chemist in Angers at the end of the 19th century. He distilled liqueurs creating a range of secret recipes many of which are still in use today. The flagship product is the Menthe-Pastille originally made using English peppermint leaves.
