A spectacular set of bourbon aromas with salt, toasty oak, apples, peach and cherry, hints of date and mint. Big, oaky, oily and dry, then malt, rye, caramel and butter-toffee. Very long finish to this unquestionable superstar.

Elijah Craig was the Baptist minister credited with using charred barrels for the first time in bourbon production and giving it its unique style. Something of an entrepreneur he set up a fulling mill and paper mill beside the distillery. The distillery is still owned and run by his descendants.
