Le Pigeoulet des Brunier, VdP de Vaucluse 2010

In 1898 Hippolyte Brunier planted the first vines on the stony soils of the Crau plateau, which lies in the southeast of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Fourth generation, Fréderic and Daniel now run the 72 hectare property of the magnificent Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe and continue to build on the work of earlier generations. The Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe estate takes its name from the tower on the hillside built in 1792 by M. Chappe. Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe produces only four wines, their top cuveés from their oldest vines: the complex Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Red from Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, and the powerful Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe White from Clairette, Grenache, Roussanne and Bourboulenc; and their two second wines the red and white Le Télégramme. Also under the Brunier stable are Domaine la Roquette, purchased in 1986 as a lighter faster maturing style of Châteauneuf compared to Vieux Télégraphe, and Domaine Les Pallières in Gigondas where the previous owner Pierre Roux had no heir to succeed him. Methods at Pallières are very traditional and the vines average at least 50 years of age. Les Pallières had been in the Roux family since the 15th century.

2010	An outstanding vintage, particularly in the south where the balance is glorious.
2009	Also packed with superlatives, with the North just doing more than the South – very pure, rich Syrah with tremendous potential.
2008	Certainly a ‘curate’s egg’, where we were careful to buy only the best. One of the few dips in the ‘noughties’ really.
2007	This fabulous vintage tops even the outstanding 2006, 2005 and 2004s. A remarkable run, but tasting these wines has been an absolute pleasure in recent years, and these brilliant wines will last, the top styles easily making 15 – 20 years, yet having the fresh fruit structure to enjoy in their youth.
2003	A very hot vintage, which has resulted in very rich wines, possibly better in the north.
2002	A little disappointingly light.
2001	Uniformly excellent.

Delivery in Mainland UK

Delivery is FREE on orders of £90 or more to a single address in mainland UK.
£7.95 post & packing applies per delivery address for orders under £90.

Dozens, half dozens and 1,2 & 3 packs minimize packaging waste.

Unless advised otherwise, you will normally receive your delivery within two working days*, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Please contact us should this not be the case.
*You should allow three working days for delivery to the Scottish Highlands.

Please note: We operate a signature service on all deliveries.
Goods can be left unsigned for, but you must specify this during checkout, with instructions on where to leave the goods should you be out.
Any goods that have been left according to instruction and not delivered over the recipients threshold are left at the senders risk

- Next Week Day Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £12.
Orders for Next Day delivery must be received by 2pm on the preceding week day (excluding bank holidays) so that we have time to pack them.

- Saturday Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £20.
Orders for Saturday Delivery must be received by 2pm on Friday afternoon (or by 2pm on Thursday before the Easter weekend).

- Tasting Ticket(s) will be despatched by First Class Royal Mail (free of charge) to your selected delivery address within 2 working days of placing your order.

We always do our very best to achieve our stated delivery times but please note we can not be responsible for circumstances beyond Tanners control including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and supplier & carrier difficulties.

 

Delivery to other areas - additional charges

- Deliveries to the Isle of Wight are £5 per case
- Northern Ireland and Scilly Isles are £10 per case
- The main Scottish Islands and Isle of Man are £15 per case.

You should allow up to 6 working days for delivery to these areas.

Despatches to the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, the EU and elsewhere are by individual arrangement and are not orderable online.
Due to the customs paperwork involved we do not normally consider despatches of less than 10 cases. Please contact us regarding delivery abroad or call us on 01743 234455.

 

Gift Delivery

Multiple address checkout is now available and can be achieved by clicking on 'Deliver my order to several addresses' on the basket page. Please remember that if you select this option, the relevant delivery charges will be added per address. Our delivery charges are detailed below. (Please note you cannot pay by PayPal if you use the 'multiple address' checkout.)

Please note when sending gifts that addresses must be accurate, particularly for recipients at large organisations. Don’t forget to include a daytime phone number and 'Delivery Address Instructions' at checkout on where to leave the goods if the recipient is out; if you don’t the driver will leave a card to which the recipient will have to respond.

Finally, if an item is out of stock, to ensure a timely delivery, we will substitute with a similar item of equal or higher value (unless requested not to do so in your order’s delivery instructions.)

 

Returns

If you don’t like any wine that you buy from us, for whatever reason, return it within a month of purchase and we shall refund your money without question or delay.

Refunds for Tasting Tickets: If you need to arrange a refund at any time prior to us posting your ticket(s), please ring 01743 234455. Once we've posted the ticket(s), if you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can and wherever possible, we will attempt to resell your ticket(s) on your behalf.

Please note that once we've despatched them, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).

 

Claims

Breakages: Goods must be examined and breakages notified immediately, within two days of delivery at the latest. Please telephone on 01743 234455 or use our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.
