Germany

Germany has had a wonderful succession of vintages and can offer great wines at reasonable prices. A real bonus is that many of the wines are lower in alcohol, a factor that is increasingly important for today’s wine drinker. The Mosel is the classic German region with its steep slopes, terraced vineyards and off-dry whites. In the Nahe, Helmut Dönnhoff continues to demonstrate why he is one of the world's top growers. For many years the Rheingau was the most important region in Germany and people such as Peter Kühn and Franz Michel are doing much to re-establish this reputation. We are passionate about German wine and were delighted to be named German Specialist of the Year 2009 at the International Wine Challenge.
