Sparkling wines have had many plaudits in the press recently and the sun has shone brightly in Kent: our new pair from Gusbourne are super additions.
Elsewhere with still wines, and despite the tendency for cooler weather further north, we have been very impressed by the style and sheer drinkability of the Ancre Hill wines from Monmouthshire.
Richard Morris has planted his vineyard with the aim of growing top quality, ripe fruit. Broadfield from Herefordshire, run by Alexandra James, has also done well recently as have Three Choirs in Gloucestershire and our neighbours in Shropshire at Wroxeter where Martin Millington has taken over the reins from his father David.
In South Wales, Glyndwr vineyard makes fresh, balanced wines in the Vale of Glamorgan.
