Vintage Champagnes
Vintage champagnes (only produced in the best vintages) have undergone a longer maturation process than their non-vintage counterparts and consequently have more depth and complexity along with more bready flavours and aromas. For a Champagne to be specified as ‘vintage’, 100% of the grapes must have been grown in the year on the label. Vintage champagnes spend a minimum of three years on their lees whilst some of the top Champagne houses keep their wines on the lees in excess of five to ten years.
