Clos de Vougeot grand cru, Domaine d'Eugénie 2006

Domaine d’Eugénie or "The domaine formally known as Engel". Following the untimely death of Philippe Engel and with no natural successor, the decision was taken to sell the estate. Quite controversially the estate was acquired by a "Bordelais" in the form of François Pinault the owner of Château Latour. The family Engel did not, however, sell the family home/winery so new premises had to be sought by the new owners. They temporarily lodged at Lupé-Cholet in Nuits-St-Georges where the 2006/7/8 vintages have been produced. Much work has been carried out at the Clos Frantin cuvérie in Vosne Romanée, the new home of Domaine d’Eugenie. The name "Eugénie" was that of François Pinault’s grandmother. The team at Eugénie is headed by Frédéric Engerer, director of Château Latour, but they have sought local help in the form of Michel Mallard from Ladoix as the winemaker.

2010	A full, harmonious, concentrated vintage with the promise of complexity to come. It is a little fresher than 2009.
2009	This has proved to be much sought-after. The wines from this vintage have exquisite balance.
2008	The Pinot Noir produced some sensual, aromatic burgundies, mostly for early to mid-term drinking.
2007	This vintage required some hard work from the growers, but many made good, very typical wines for the mid-term.
2006	Wines from this vintage are supple, with soft fruit and tannin, starting to show their secondary character.
2005	By contrast to the 2006s these wines are much more structured and will repay keeping.
2004	These wines have a purity about them, the best are juicy yet well-structured. They will drink earlier than the 2005s.
2003	An atypical vintage – very ripe and powerful.

Delivery in Mainland UK

Delivery is FREE on orders of £90 or more to a single address in mainland UK.
£7.95 post & packing applies per delivery address for orders under £90.

Dozens, half dozens and 1,2 & 3 packs minimize packaging waste.

Unless advised otherwise, you will normally receive your delivery within two working days*, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Please contact us should this not be the case.
*You should allow three working days for delivery to the Scottish Highlands.

Please note: We operate a signature service on all deliveries.
Goods can be left unsigned for, but you must specify this during checkout, with instructions on where to leave the goods should you be out.
Any goods that have been left according to instruction and not delivered over the recipients threshold are left at the senders risk

- Next Week Day Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £12.
Orders for Next Day delivery must be received by 2pm on the preceding week day (excluding bank holidays) so that we have time to pack them.

- Saturday Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £20.
Orders for Saturday Delivery must be received by 2pm on Friday afternoon (or by 2pm on Thursday before the Easter weekend).

- Tasting Ticket(s) will be despatched by First Class Royal Mail (free of charge) to your selected delivery address within 2 working days of placing your order.

We always do our very best to achieve our stated delivery times but please note we can not be responsible for circumstances beyond Tanners control including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and supplier & carrier difficulties.

 

Delivery to other areas - additional charges

- Deliveries to the Isle of Wight are £5 per case
- Northern Ireland and Scilly Isles are £10 per case
- The main Scottish Islands and Isle of Man are £15 per case.

You should allow up to 6 working days for delivery to these areas.

Despatches to the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, the EU and elsewhere are by individual arrangement and are not orderable online.
Due to the customs paperwork involved we do not normally consider despatches of less than 10 cases. Please contact us regarding delivery abroad or call us on 01743 234455.

 

Gift Delivery

Multiple address checkout is now available and can be achieved by clicking on 'Deliver my order to several addresses' on the basket page. Please remember that if you select this option, the relevant delivery charges will be added per address. Our delivery charges are detailed below. (Please note you cannot pay by PayPal if you use the 'multiple address' checkout.)

Please note when sending gifts that addresses must be accurate, particularly for recipients at large organisations. Don’t forget to include a daytime phone number and 'Delivery Address Instructions' at checkout on where to leave the goods if the recipient is out; if you don’t the driver will leave a card to which the recipient will have to respond.

Finally, if an item is out of stock, to ensure a timely delivery, we will substitute with a similar item of equal or higher value (unless requested not to do so in your order’s delivery instructions.)

 

Returns

If you don’t like any wine that you buy from us, for whatever reason, return it within a month of purchase and we shall refund your money without question or delay.

Refunds for Tasting Tickets: If you need to arrange a refund at any time prior to us posting your ticket(s), please ring 01743 234455. Once we've posted the ticket(s), if you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can and wherever possible, we will attempt to resell your ticket(s) on your behalf.

Please note that once we've despatched them, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).

 

Claims

Breakages: Goods must be examined and breakages notified immediately, within two days of delivery at the latest. Please telephone on 01743 234455 or use our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.

Faulty Wines: If you discover a faulty wine that you have bought from us, please retain the packaging and  telephone on 01743 234455 or use our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.
