All the ingredients of a great year for white burgundy exist in the 2014s. They have that rare equal combination of elegance and richness, and they have citrusy acidity which is perfectly balanced by a natural intensity of fruit. The aromas are superb and they reflect where the wines are from, with each individual vineyard being individually expressed. They will drink well, but equally have a good future ahead of them, if older white burgundy is your preference.

The reds have a gorgeous combination of red and black fruits and not a smidgen of lightness or grippy tannins (at least not amongst wines from our carefully selected growers). The perfumed, often violet scented character of Pinot Noir is on full show and should mature beautifully over the next few years. For ageing we suggest they are young to mid-term wines as it would be a shame not to profit from their lovely primary fruit. For both reds and whites, the smaller and higher villages have also performed well in 2014.
