Tuna carpaccio with tomato confit on a bed of mixed leaves
This is a 625 hectare estate located in the western fringes of the Transylvania/Banat region near the city of Timisoara in the west of the country. Wine has been produced here continuously since 1477 but it has been completely replanted in the past ten years and a state of the art winery built which was completed in 2010. The wines are made by Australian Hartley Smithers and Spaniard Nora Iriate who have worked with local viticulturists and winemakers over the past 7 years to create modern, fruit driven wines. Whites are harvested early in the morning and fermented in stainless steel to maintain freshness, part of the Pinot undergoes carbonic maceration and the rest is very lightly oaked. They are environmentally conscious, having the most up to date waste water re-processing plant in Central Europe - and everything is conducted in a high quality, modern, attention to detail way.
What a shocker! Who knew that Romanian Pinot Noir could be this good?! Good Pinot rarely comes in at under £12, with most good cheaper ones having lots of nice strawberry fruit, but none of the lifted feel that you want from Pinot Noir. This one is different: incredibly good value, with loads of juicy fruit, plus (and this is the clincher) a wonderful delicacy and freshness that makes you want to go back for more. Yummy for any occasion!

Unless advised otherwise, you will normally receive your delivery within two working days*, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Please contact us should this not be the case. *You should allow three working days for delivery to the Scottish Highlands.
Please note: We operate a signature service on all deliveries. Goods can be left unsigned for, but you must specify this during checkout, with instructions on where to leave the goods should you be out. Any goods that have been left according to instruction and not delivered over the recipients threshold are left at the senders risk
- Next Week Day Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £12. Orders for Next Day delivery must be received by 2pmon the preceding week day (excluding bank holidays) so that we have time to pack them.
- Saturday Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £20. Orders for Saturday Delivery must be received by 2pm on Friday afternoon (or by 2pm on Thursday before the Easter weekend).
- Tasting Ticket(s) will be despatched by First Class Royal Mail (free of charge) to your selected delivery address within 2 working days of placing your order.
We always do our very best to achieve our stated delivery times but please note we can not be responsible for circumstances beyond Tanners control including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and supplier & carrier difficulties.
Delivery to other areas - additional charges
- Deliveries to the Isle of Wight are £5 per case - Northern Ireland and Scilly Isles are £10 per case - The main Scottish Islands and Isle of Man are £15 per case.
You should allow up to 6 working days for delivery to these areas.
Despatches to the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, the EU and elsewhere are by individual arrangement and are not orderable online. Due to the customs paperwork involved we do not normally consider despatches of less than 10 cases. Please contact us regarding delivery abroad or call us on 01743 234455.
Multiple address checkout is now available and can be achieved by clicking on 'Deliver my order to several addresses' on the basket page. Please remember that if you select this option, the relevant delivery charges will be added per address. Our delivery charges are detailed below. (Please note you cannot pay by PayPal if you use the 'multiple address' checkout.)
Please note when sending gifts that addresses must be accurate, particularly for recipients at large organisations. Don’t forget to include a daytime phone number and 'Delivery Address Instructions' at checkout on where to leave the goods if the recipient is out; if you don’t the driver will leave a card to which the recipient will have to respond.

Finally, if an item is out of stock, to ensure a timely delivery, we will substitute with a similar item of equal or higher value (unless requested not to do so in your order’s delivery instructions.)
If you don’t like any wine that you buy from us, for whatever reason, return it within a month of purchase and we shall refund your money without question or delay.
Refunds for Tasting Tickets: If you need to arrange a refund at any time prior to us posting your ticket(s), please ring 01743 234455. Once we've posted the ticket(s), if you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can and wherever possible, we will attempt to resell your ticket(s) on your behalf.
Please note that once we've despatched them, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).
Breakages: Goods must be examined and breakages notified immediately, within two days of delivery at the latest. Please telephone on 01743 234455 oruse our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.
