In a league of its own, Port continues to have the ‘wow’ factor that brings any great meal to a triumphant end. We have witnessed mature Vintage Ports and their ‘Single Quinta’ cousins re-establishing their position as very desirable bottles, and they certainly look good value against the top red wines.
Much excitement was generated by the 2007 vintage, which many pundits believe has the same structure and quality of the very best vintages. Add to this the quality that the overlooked wood-aged tawnies consistently provide, and the result is that you have never had a better reason to buy.
