White Port
Made by either red or white grapes, the former very lightly pressed, and can be either dry or sweet in style. A sweet one is often labelled ‘Lagrima’ and uses Moscatel grapes as in a dark sherry. The dry, as epitomised by Churchill’s example, is usually served chilled with ice and soda or tonic as a long drink, which is very refreshing. It works very well with grilled sardines too!
