Manzanilla Sherry
The lightest, and most refreshing style of dry Sherry is Manzanilla, which makes a classic apéritif. Made from the Palomino Fino grape, the juice is completely fermented out to make dry white wine. This is then put in barrel where a creamy yeast called ‘flor’ develops. This imparts an intense flavour to the wine while preserving it from the effects of oxygen, i.e. it stops it going brown and keeps it fresh to the taste. In the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the flor grows permanently on the wine, meaning that Tanners Mariscal Manzanilla, the lightest, freshest style in our range, is bone-dry with a salty tang. The single vineyard Manzanilla Pasada spends longer in barrel, producing a more intense, aromatic wine.
