Giugi (as Giuseppe is known), Elisa and Sarah Sesti make delicious Sangiovese, Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino at their idyllic Tuscan estate at the southern end of the Montalcino plateau. Here at Castello di Argiano, a castle tower, a chapel, a villa and outbuildings make up a privately owned hamlet surrounded by vines, all with sweeping views over the countryside to 5,700 foot Monte Amiata. Giugi Sesti is a world authority on ancient astronomy hence the celestial designs on all their labels, and viticultural and winemaking techniques which follow the phases of the moon. Indeed natural, time-honoured practices with minimal use of chemicals are important at Castello di Argiano. Of 102 hectares, only eight are planted with vines, the rest is olive trees and woods, and from these vines they will select the best plots each year to go into Brunello or Rosso, or into the rather good ‘Grangiovese’. According to Giugi, the aim is to make, "Premium, full-bodied wines with great colour and nose which no less important - are kind in their effect when consumed in quantity!"

Delivery in Mainland UK

Delivery is FREE on orders of £90 or more to a single address in mainland UK.
£7.95 post & packing applies per delivery address for orders under £90.

Dozens, half dozens and 1,2 & 3 packs minimize packaging waste.

Unless advised otherwise, you will normally receive your delivery within two working days*, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Please contact us should this not be the case.
*You should allow three working days for delivery to the Scottish Highlands.

Please note: We operate a signature service on all deliveries.
Goods can be left unsigned for, but you must specify this during checkout, with instructions on where to leave the goods should you be out.
Any goods that have been left according to instruction and not delivered over the recipients threshold are left at the senders risk

- Next Week Day Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £12.
Orders for Next Day delivery must be received by 2pm on the preceding week day (excluding bank holidays) so that we have time to pack them.

- Saturday Delivery by 12 noon is charged at a flat rate of £20.
Orders for Saturday Delivery must be received by 2pm on Friday afternoon (or by 2pm on Thursday before the Easter weekend).

- Tasting Ticket(s) will be despatched by First Class Royal Mail (free of charge) to your selected delivery address within 2 working days of placing your order.

We always do our very best to achieve our stated delivery times but please note we can not be responsible for circumstances beyond Tanners control including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and supplier & carrier difficulties.

 

Delivery to other areas - additional charges

- Deliveries to the Isle of Wight are £5 per case
- Northern Ireland and Scilly Isles are £10 per case
- The main Scottish Islands and Isle of Man are £15 per case.

You should allow up to 6 working days for delivery to these areas.

Despatches to the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, the EU and elsewhere are by individual arrangement and are not orderable online.

Gift Delivery

Multiple address checkout is now available and can be achieved by clicking on 'Deliver my order to several addresses' on the basket page. Please remember that if you select this option, the relevant delivery charges will be added per address. Our delivery charges are detailed below. (Please note you cannot pay by PayPal if you use the 'multiple address' checkout.)

Please note when sending gifts that addresses must be accurate, particularly for recipients at large organisations. Don’t forget to include a daytime phone number and 'Delivery Address Instructions' at checkout on where to leave the goods if the recipient is out; if you don’t the driver will leave a card to which the recipient will have to respond.

Finally, if an item is out of stock, to ensure a timely delivery, we will substitute with a similar item of equal or higher value (unless requested not to do so in your order’s delivery instructions.)

 

Returns

If you don’t like any wine that you buy from us, for whatever reason, return it within a month of purchase and we shall refund your money without question or delay.

Refunds for Tasting Tickets: If you need to arrange a refund at any time prior to us posting your ticket(s), please ring 01743 234455. Once we've posted the ticket(s), if you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can and wherever possible, we will attempt to resell your ticket(s) on your behalf.

Please note that once we've despatched them, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).

 

Claims

Breakages: Goods must be examined and breakages notified immediately, within two days of delivery at the latest. Please telephone on 01743 234455 or use our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.

Faulty Wines: If you discover a faulty wine that you have bought from us, please retain the packaging and  telephone on 01743 234455 or use our contact form to organise a credit or replacement.
