Bandol, Le Galantin 2012
Céline Pascal does all the work at family-owned Le Galantin in building a fine reputation for their powerful, jammy, sweet-fruited Bandol. After 18 months in barrel this is a well-structured wine with great depth.

Bright, layered crimson. Already quite mature on the nose. Sweet and fruity – not the subtlest bordeaux but easy to like. Dusty finish. Very dry end but truly Médoc! 16/20.
Suspiciously cheap for the maturity! But this really does taste of the place. Warm and spicy with all the tannins fully resolved. Very long. VGV. 16.5/20.
Full-bodied and richly flavoured in style, revealing a smooth and generous texture on the palate, while there are spice notes to complement the red berry fruit. Drinking well now.
