Chartreuse

Chartreuse

Chartreuse is still made by the Carthusian monks at their abbey in Voiron near Grenoble. It was given to the Abbey in 1605 but was not produced commercially until 1848. When the monks were exiled from France between 1903 and 1931 it was produced at Tarragona, in Spain.
