Bought in 1941 by Francis Borie the estate is now run by Jean-Eugène Borie and his son, Xavier. It was at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou that Bordeaux mixture was invented back in the early part of the 20th century. The wines regularly out-perform their classification and are 'quintessential' clarets.
