The Grand Vin is subject to rigorous selection, generally accounting for no more than 40% of the harvest. This leaves outstanding plots and older vines for the estate’s second wine, Les Fiefs de Lagrange.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirst created in 1983, Les Fiefs was one of the early examples of a second wine and was introduced to enable more stringent selection for the Grand Vin. Produced from vines averaging around 30 years old, with Cabernet Sauvignon traditionally accounting for about half the blend, it is aged for 13 months in barrels, 20% of which are new.
