Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, Les Charmeuses, Domaine Mucyn 2020

£23.00 Sold Out

75cl ALC 13%

60% Marsanne, 40% Roussanne, co-vinified. The vines are around 40 years old and exclusively from the north of the appellation grown on gentle slopes. Honeysuckle, white peaches and almond on the expressive nose. The mid-weight palate has a lovely balance with ripe rich stone fruit and elegant freshness. 20% of this wine is fermented in 2 year old barrels to give body and depth, which it certainly has. 0-5 years.

Domaine Mucyn

After starting out with just half a hectare of Crozes-Hermitage they now have 20 ha including 13 in Crozes-Hermitage (11 red and 2 white), 1.6 ha Cornas, 2.8 ha St Joseph red, 0.9 ha St Joseph white and a little 0.7 ha IGP near St Joseph. Jean-Pierre and Hélène are clearly very passionate about what they do and are continually striving to make improvements. They are now fully organic, with 2021 marking the final year of conversion. Their range of wines is excellent, with a clear mineral quality, elegance and fruit rather than power and oak. They also make a rather delicious apricot conserve!
