Georges Trichard built this estate up in the sixties and seventies purchasing land in Chénas and Saint Amour. The Chénas is from four hectares of schistous soil near Chapelle de Guinchay, the five hectare Saint Amour vineyard, Domaine des Pierres, was planted in 1980 and so is now producing optimum quality fruit.
At the same time he introduced lutte raisonée into the vineyards (before it became really fashionable) and introduced temperature control into the winery. The Saint Amour is given a short maceration to accentuate the fruit and is a wonderful example of this cru. Georges is gradually handing over to his nephew, Jean-François.
