Originally founded in 1836 by James Demontry as a wine merchants in Burgundy. In the 1900s Edmond Briottet brought together this company and that of his father-in-law, Jules Theuriet. As Cassis gained popularity the emphasis switched from wine to liqueur production.
Today the operation is still family owned and run. In 2010 the 6th generation, Claire and Vincent Briottet joined the family business. With just 7 people they produce 54 varieties of liqueurs; 8 eaux de vie and 4 fine spirits.
