Light, fresh, bone dry and slightly salty, La Gitana is one of Sanlúcar de Barrameda's best known Manzanillas. It makes an excellent accompaniment to green olives, Jámon Iberico and to many fish dishes.

Time and again, fino or manzanilla seems the right choice, either to accompany fishy dishes or just as an aperitif. I never tire of Hidalgo’s notably fresh, light-footed and tangy Manzanilla La Gitana.
The lightest, freshest style of sherry from the town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda has a subtle sea-salty tang, fresh sourdough bread and marmite-lite nutty-yeasty savouriness that make it incredibly moreish both with and without olives and jamón.
My favourite aperitif manzanilla sherry, this is bone dry and really perks up your palate.
