Pinot Blanc, Cuvée René Dopff, Dopff & Irion 2015
A fresh, crisp wine to be savoured on its own or as an apéritif. Alsace excels at this style. The co-operative at Pfaffenheim, just to the south of Colmar, is an excellent source of pure, fruity, dry whites.

Pinot Blanc is Alsace's less showy white grape (in comparison with Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris), but it's a charmer, as this shows in its floral freshness and softness, delicate mirabelle and greengage fruit and dry, but not too dry finish. Ideal as an aperitif or with a quiche, simple white fish or chicken dish.
