Piquepoul Rosé, Coteaux d'Ensérune, Foncalieu 2020
All orders containing this wine will be delivered from 10th June.
[Provence rosés] are rosés that are sometimes so pale only the slightest tint of pink separates them from white wines – a style that has been adopted, sometimes with great finesse, by producers up the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc, among them the Foncalieu co-operative, which makes a particularly good value example from the rare (a mere 250 acres remain) piquepoul noir variety that has just the requisite hazy, pastel-shaded strawberry and easy freshness to start the season.

Made not from Picpoul (white grape), but from Piquepoul Noir, a rare red grape which fashions cheeky rosés with cherry-stone fruit notes and electrifying freshness on the finish. A thrilling summer aperitif style, try it with ceviche, sushi or fresh seafood for amazing results.
Produced by Foncalieu — a collection of more than 1,000 producers near Carcassonne — this light, zesty wine is full of invigorating citrus and has the vitality to be enjoyed on its own or as an aperitif.
