Quincy, Domaine de Trotereau 2016
A lovely wine with a great gooseberry fool character. Crisp and refreshing with good length, it is a strong rival to its neighbours in Sancerre. Pierre Ragon makes this excellent wine in a very traditional manner.

If you're a fan of Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé, it's always worth looking out for Quincy (it applies in restaurants too) because a good one is a useful value alternative to the two more famous Loire Sauvignon appellations to Quincy's north east. This one, from the ripe 2015 vintage, is bright and zingy with crisp apple and peach flavours.
