Setúbal

The Setúbal region lies just south of Lisbon, across the Tagus estuary. It is famous for fortified sweet wines made from Muscat of Alexandria grapes, the barrel-aged versions from Bacalhôa are superb. The corniche road from here to Sesimbra is breath-taking.
