Situated at Karadoc in north-west Victoria, the Zilzie Estate has been in the hands of the Forbes family since the early part of the 20th century. The winery is the most technologically advanced in Australia. For thirty years the company simply supplied grapes to winemakers.
However, in 2001 the decision was taken to launch the vineyard’s own range, focussing on fresh, fruit-driven wines with very pure varietal characteristics. Now one of Australia’s top 10 producers by volume, the estate extends to some 607 hectares of vines which thrive in the rich, red loam and limestone of the Murray Darling region.
