Zephyr translates from Greek as a (westerly) gentle breeze, and that gives you an idea of the forested valley vineyard here in the West Sonoma Coast. This is flavour packed, with a notable richness but stays on the more savoury and structured side of things. Tight, sea-kissed lime citrus and blossom, crisp white fruits, fresh herbs and some phenolic grip. We expect this has some way to develop ahead of it! 2024-2032

Since 2005 the team at Ceritas, led by founder John Raytek, have made it their mission to produce wines that truly reflect the terroir of the northern California coastal regions.

Focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with fruit sourced throughout Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley, the vines are farmed along biodynamic lines giving care and attention to allow each site to express its terroir. Winemaking is flexible rather than dogmatic, hoping to allow outstanding fruit to shine through with traditional techniques.

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly.
