A welcome return of GrisiŠres after last year. 30% whole bunches were used to bring freshness to the wine which is very deep and concentrated with rich plum-laden fruit, plenty of spice and a more gentle floral note before a creamy, elevated finish. 3-12 years.

From ungrafted 50 year old vines this elegant and floral with plenty of white orchard fruits, there is good concentration and depth on the palate with a hint of fresh almond and a lovely fresh finish. 0-3 years.

Always the brooding one in the line up, more herbal and floral in nature. It is rich, shows great texture and mouthfeel as well as great intensity of cooked orange and spice. 3-7 years.

A clean fresh nose, with floral tones. Very attractive on the palate with super balance, the freshness coping admirably with a rich weighty fruit and demonstrating a chalky mineral note under sweet white peach fruit and super succulence on the finish. 3-7 years

A very attractive nose with white flowers and sweet yellow fruits. It has a lovely silky mouth-feel, rich orangey fruit, a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, with the latter bringing freshness and the former weight and depth. 0-5 years.

The vines are now over 40 years old so bring extra depth and concentration to the wine. Brambly with a touch of damson, before some present but well balanced tannins and a very pure fruit character with just a hint of dark chocolate, long on the finish. 3 years.

Deep, elegant perfumed peppery dark bramble fruits, crunchy pomegranate and red berries, and fragrant herbs, exotic spices, and incense. Full to medium-bodied, silky with a savoury mineral vein, with fine grainy tannins, sappy blackberry fruit and a host of gamey, herby, spicy flavours. Classy and beautifully balanced. 3-9 years.

This Stellenbosch bottling offers great density, a grippy and masculine Cabernet with a dark fruit focus, notes of cedar, ink, liquorice and new leather. The palate shows some tension and plentiful ripe tannins that provide some grip, hints of eucalyptus and juicy red plum and fragrant blue fruits. 5-15 years.

This Franschhoek bottling has 12% Cabernet Franc in the blend, adding a classic violet and graphite quality to cassis and raspberry fruit. Minty, with a touch of leather, medium to full-bodied, with a fleshy and juicy personality, this is clean and lifted with fine tannins and long minty, dark fruit flavours. 3-9 years.

Amazing purity and definition, offering notes of white pepper, sweet-cured bacon fat, complex woody and bloomy herbs, and a cool mint and blackberry combination. Dense but precise and lifted, with fine tannins, a juicy personality, and a long, fine, toasty finish. 3-9 years.

With no Telegraphe produced this year and this wine bolstered with what remained, Telegramme doesn't disappoint. Rich, ripe brambly fruit with raspberry overtones and notes of violets before a hint of strawberry and garrigue herbs on the finish. 5-10+ years.

Super fruit on the nose with an almost liqueur-like intensity. Damson and black cherries to the fore with a more red fruit character underneath. Beautifully weighted on the palate with a freshness and very fine tannins which leave a lingering finish. 5-15 years.

Very fine, elegant cherry and strawberry fruit. Wonderfully balanced on the palate, the lovely sweet fruit character countered with freshness and supported by some super-fine tannins. 5-10+ years.

Generous and golden nose, showing ripe fruit, some honey and buttery notes in a mellow style. Bright on the palate with a lively frame, excellent intensity and some bite. Finely textured, really quite deft and vinous ? there is great weight and ?oomph? but it remains so well balanced. Flavourful, complex flavour and texture. Superb. 2-9 years.

Les Cras has the same chalky soils as Corton, and Buisson-Charles is one of just three growers here. An immediate sense of tension on the nose, very fresh and direct, with notes of pressed white flowers and delicate oily citrus. Powerful and rich, almost creamy but very bright and tense with some lemon citrus, taut mineral bite, opening out to something more textured, with a warming gingery note and long flavours of meal, toast and honey. 5-15 years.

A pure nose, some tropical hints of pineapple with more ginger and soft spices with a chalky, stony mineral feel. Rich attack with sparkling acidity, very good clarity and a tonic-like edge. Great mineral grip, the palate grows in weight to a ripe fruit character and a pleasing salinity. 5-15 years.

Very attractive ripe nose, some oily richness and good volume with plenty of freshness, showing a touch of flint. The mouth shows a sweet edge and super acidity giving a certain poise. Creamy core with plenty of base, animated and energetic and flavours of white fruit and rich lime citrus. Ample and very Meursault, long and finely textured with apple fruits and flowers on the long, nutty and mealy finish. 0-7 years.

Gorgeous nose! Lots of fresh raspberry fruit and a great floral perfume, some spice and leaf, a little crunch ? all very flattering. Sweet attack then a delicate and fine tension, with a perfumed leafy frame. This is super fine and feels grand, beautifully knit with lovely acidity and a long finish with a moreish, savoury vein. Serious but delicious! 2-9 years.

Lovely freshness on the nose, showing warmer orange-like citrus and notes of ginger. Ripe with that 2022 finesse and poise, notes of pressed flowers, creamed nut and soft red fruits. Good freshness and lift. Brilliant acidity and some tension on the palate, showing a little viscosity and an undulating feel - nicely balanced with good richness and mineral depth. 2-9 years.

A creamy nose, floral and gently spicy but understated. The palate follows suit and feels fairly compact and really quite seamless though there is a sense of firm minerality. There is a lot here and it drinks beautifully, but it whispers not shouts, hence the scant tasting note! 3-15 years.

From two low-yielding plots, one in Meursault in front of Volnay and one in Puligny near Chassagne. A lovely complex nose offering some mulch and Pinot leaf, then a flourish of fine red fruits, notes of the forest floor and a little wood. Medium-bodied with excellent purity and a little spicy stem, with juicy red fruits that bleed into something darker. Supple, tasty and mineral with a long, fresh finish. Very complete. 0-7 years.

Les Teurons is an especially ripe south-east facing and stony site with some deposits of clay which help combat the warmer vintages like 2022. Great aromatic intensity, rich in sweet raspberry and pressed rose, a certain plumpness. The palate shows a cool structure and great mineral intensity, overlaid with wonderfully concentrated red fruits, a touch of plum and spice, finishing long, clean and precise.

This cellar highlights the best examples of their kind from both the northern and southern Rhône. These are slightly lesser-known villages where, we feel, real gems can be found and the quality punches well above their relatively modest price tags. All are from top-class growers who put their respective villages on the map. Bachelet-Monnot’s Bourgogne Pinot Noir is based on their superb Maranges holdings in the south of the Côte de Beaune; Prunier’s Hautes-Côtes is lip-smacking, fruity and shows a little wildness, while Rollin’s example shows greater density and weight from vines up to 50 years old up. Crossing north to the Cote de Nuits, around the village of Arcenant due west of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Michel Gros’ Fontaine St Martin is a serious proposition and shows the value in the roads less travelled. These will drink on release but the Bachelet-Monnot and Gros wines will benefit from a few years in bottle. Some of the grander premier crus from the most famous villages can be a stretch but here is a collection of Tanners’ favourites which won’t make you afraid of reaching for the corkscrew in a couple of years’ time. Samuel Billaud who joins our offer for the first time, brings a lesser-seen premier cru Fourneaux which will delight those looking for Chablis throwback. The Prudhon’s Saint-Aubins are always smart options and the Sentier du Clou is especially fine-tuned this year with great potential. Both whites show the more serious side of Burgundy 2022. 2022 is a fine vintage across the board but the grand cru reds show the greatest potential. A closer look at the southern reaches of the Côte d’Or, highlighting the range of styles of the 2022 Pinot Noirs, leading with a brilliant turn from Tollot-Beaut, whose Chorey-lès-Beaune Pièce du Chapitre combines great richness with a natural freshness. The Savigny-lès-Beaune from Domaine de Bellene shows some fine structure overlaid with gorgeous creamy red fruits, while the old vines of Borgeot’s Santenay have produced a wonderfully complex Pinot with a moreish mineral and savoury quality. A snapshot of Burgundy 2022 whites starting in the far north with an exciting new Chablis for our offer from the rising star that is Samuel Billaud. From the Côte d’Or, Domaine de Bellene’s Savigny is silky and cool while Rollin’s Pernand-Verglesses is notably full, ripe and rich, and we round things off in the far south with Château Fuissé’s golden, generous and fresh Saint-Véran. A blend of five different vineyards, which will likely be produced separately in the future, depending on vintage. There is something classically firm and old-school about this, offering a saturated nose of raspberry, cassis, and blackberry fruits, fine wood spice, pencil shavings, and an impression of small stones. Bright and lively, full of drive, flavourful, poised, and notably refined. Not what you might expect of Californian Cab and shows what the cool Sonoma coast and mountains can do. 2026-2040+

From gentle hillsides that face the ocean, a few kms inland from the Pacific, named after Gard Hellenthal who owns and farms the vineyard which he planted in the late 1970s. Sandstone soils and old vines produce wines of great concentration and finesse, offering an approachable structure, with amazing intensity. Super aromatics of pine and cedar, earthy loganberry, pressed dark flowers and bright red fruits, this is full of energy and fills out a little with time too. It should age well. 2025-2035+

Elliott Vineyard is found close to Hellenthal and lies on a ridge, giving both north and south aspects, as such they make many passes to pick at optimum maturity, to best express the schist/shale and light clay soils. There is power here, intense dark berry fruits and exceptional mineral expression, it is generously proportioned and yet it is truly elegant, perfumed and precise with a moreish crunch to the fruit. A structured and notably fine Pinot that will reward some patience. Drink 2026-2036+

Zephyr translates from Greek as a (westerly) gentle breeze, and that gives you an idea of the forested valley vineyard here in the West Sonoma Coast. This is flavour packed, with a notable richness but stays on the more savoury and structured side of things. Tight, sea-kissed lime citrus and blossom, crisp white fruits, fresh herbs and some phenolic grip. We expect this has some way to develop ahead of it! 2024-2032

Dark red berry fruit initially leading to some softer dark fruit. The palate has some sweetness on the attack, then builds quickly, showing some chew and mineral tension. Silky fine, polished, driven and serious. Smart but will need time. 5-15 years.

Delicate, dark flowers and honey fragrance. Silky but tight on the palate, this is concentrated with some chew. Persistently fragrant character, long, but still tight. 3-7 years.

Reticent nose which is clean and pure with a touch of honey. There is a creamy thread on the palate which is cool and poised with a softness and some oak at the core. Bright, clean, and long. 2-7 years.

Gorgeous nose and good focus, with a pure deep dark cherry note and pressed white flowers. Silky, fresh and lifted with a touch of coffee too. More of the same on the palate makes for an appealing glassful. 3-9 years.

Understated nose with fine concentration and notes of pressed dark flowers and fine cherry fruits. Good concentration with a very fine succulent, nicely weighted attack. An enticing savoury vein with succulent fruit, juicy and elegant. 5-15 years.

Undulating nose, silky and ripe and juicy. Ripe apples and fruit blossom, honey, mineral pools ? all very clean and pure. Broad and tense attack, animated and very juicy with super white peach lift and almost lean in parts. 2-7 years.

An understated, almost oxidative, appealing, nutty note to the nose. This is poised with succulent, perfumed elements. Layered and compact, it is rich, tangy, toasty and mealy. Lots of flavour and good purity, long and comfy. 2-7 years.

A wonderfully pure and poised nose, showing immaculate, ripe Cabernet fruit, aromas of cassis, vaporous sweet raspberry, darker notes of blackberry and black cherry jam, and dark flowers. The oak is well integrated offering the barest whiff of coffee and

Another really good Angludet that stood out at the Margaux tasting for its equilibrium and restraint while some others were more clumsy. Plenty of violet on the nose, then juicy, round black fruit coupled with silky tannins, with purity and freshness forging through to the finish. Balanced and accurate, a very successful Margaux. 5-15 years.

An exotic floral nose with hints of creamy Kirsch and framboise. Fresh and polished with excellent depth and purity of fruit. This is wonderfully intergrated, a very classy second wine! 5-15 years.

Delicious hints of framboise, morello cherries, rose petal and garrigue lead onto a dense mid-palate of plums, spice, crumble and sweet black cherry. Full-bodied with warming notes of creamy oak and touch of salinity on the long finish. 5-15+ years.

The second wine of fifth growth Château Batailley, named after the Lions that 'guard' the gate.Sumptous from the off, the Lions exudes cassis and spice. On the palate there is evident purple and blackberry fruit crumble notes with hints of cinnamon, liquorice and dark chocolate coming through. Expressive and rich with plenty of weight and a long finish it's hard to resist this 'baby' Batailley!

On the nose the violets, black cherry and blackcurrant are followed by a plush, deep black core of summer fruit and hints of liquorice. Quite sumptous with nicely intergrated tannins, this is an excellent release from this ever improving estate. 3-9 years.

Often overlooked, this estate is definitely one to seek out. A beautifully crafted wine, the 2022 offers up enticing notes of damson, forest fruits, plums and flora. Big in structure but still supple, the minerality and youthful acidity shine through. Long and layered on the finish, this is another classy release from this consistently excellent Chateau. 5-15 years

Another superb nose, full of fruit and blossom, very attractive. Nice sweet fruit in the mouth, great balance and soft, rounded feel in the finish. Enough structure but an earlier drinker than some. 3-9 years.

One of the stars of the commune that keeps delivering. A most lovely nose of cassis, violet, blackberry and blueberry fool cascades onto the palate backed by classy, creamy oak. Good grip that balances the richness of fruit, quite chalky on the finish with warmth and good length. Feels like a keeper. 5-15+ years.

Hugely impressive from the dominant Calon-Segur stable, there?s a lovely round feel to this. Blackcurrant and blackberry fool, then an energy and finesse on the palate backed up by firm but supple new oak and good length. Great wine and great value.

Mulberry fruit on the nose, more on the palate with a ripe compote feel, lovely texture with chalky tannins propping up the mouthfeel. Generous and attractive, cool and fresh in the finish. Neat and polished. Drink 5-15 years.

Packed with black fruits and enticing garrigue notes with a just a nod to licquorice. Despite the heat there is great freshness with appealing concentration. This wine always provides serious value and drinkability - this vintage is no exception. 2-7 years.

This consistent performer instantly draws you in with aromas of grapefruit and honeysuckle. Zesty and fresh on the palate, with notes of lime, green apple and white currant and a lingering mineral finish. It hits the mark again! 0-5 years.

The second wine is two-thirds Merlot and the quality and softness shine. Lots of fruit on the nose, a damson edge that glides onto the palate, a long, saline feel to the finish. Presence but not too chunky in character, surprisingly juicy overall, a mid-term prospect with finesse and charm. Impressive. 3-9 years.

The high point of a superb tasting at Ducru-Beaucaillou. Spiced damson to start, then blueberry and mulberry cascades onto the palate with silky tannins, very fine, intense with poise and finesse, very fluid, clean finish and lovely persistence. The whole feels very complete, nicely concentrated with impeccable balance. Lots of energy about it, definitely worthy of its status and rank. 5-15 years.

Very fresh with a core of raspberry and red plum fruit at its centre, black fruit coming through behind. Lovely poise as you expect from the Lafite stable, good focus and purity, then fresh on the finish. 5-15 years.

Gonzargue Lurton has fashioned a delicious, structured yet ripe and concentrated wine this year. For a second growth Durfort is always good value and the depth and definition of the black fruit is wrapped in chunky, grainy tannins that work well to support the texture here. Biodynamic practices have created a bright, vibrant character, lots of freshness on the finish. A super effort and a Margaux to admire. 5-15 years.

Intoxicating notes of violets and plum leap out of the glass, quickly followed by a dense core of purple fruits, dark chocolate, cherry tobacco and graphite. Medium bodied, with well-integrated tannins, its deceptively smooth with a long finish. A return to form for this underrated estate. 5-15 years.

A Château that has recently blossomed with better texture and presence than a decade back. Bacon fat on the nose, then lovely, luscious ripe black fruit at its core surrounded by dense yet chalky tannins that build to the finish. There's generosity about this wine, power and yet elegance on the finish. Very good all-round effort. 5-15+ years.

Gorgeous blackberry jelly nose with a touch of spice. Velvety with a complex mix of classic clarety flavours on the palate. Tobacco and cedar are in the background at this stage, but that great GPL structure of long, fine, silky tannins underpin some lush fruit. Restrained in the finish yet very persistent. Length and precision, the hallmarks of another great Pauillac at a decent price. 5-15 years.

Always a dependable 'second', Sarget is typically full of blueberry and blackberry fruit, soft tannins and an easy feel in the mouth. The whole is very complete, well textured and quite lively on the finish. It?s a classic Sarget made to drink quite early yet showing the power of Gruaud in the background. A good pick this vintage to enjoy a bit younger. 3-9 years.

Super mix of fruit: damson, plum, raspberry and a shot of currant. Soft, round and svelte in the mouth, restrained and mineral with plenty of power but refined tannins and great persistence. Very good length too. Superb focus and definition, a very good to excellent wine. 5-15+ years.

With the highest yield across Pauillac, this wine has done well with very good balanced proportions. Blackberry fruit with damson jelly gives a juicy, ripe but pure feel to it. Forward with generous flavours, some tannin and a keen seam of acidity, good depth and concentration at the end. The whole effect is charming and a success. 5-15 years.

Lovely nose with toasty oak underpining attractive plum and damson fruit on the nose. Fresh on the palate, with a bit more blueberry and a jacket of ripe, grainy tannins. Good Pauillac character, this feels like it will take on more weight with age. 5-10 years.

Richer and more mouth filling with riper fruit feel than La Mission, there is again plenty of concentration and density, grainy tannins power through the middle and it is very long in the mouth. This is a wine of real presence and, while it feels a bit clumsy at the moment, should deliver in spades in the long run. 5-15+ years.

Sleek and fresh this was so moreish. Less power than its counterparts but brimming with intense purple & black fruit and liquorice. The fine tannins and lifted acidity are seamless, a real precise engaging wine which I adored! 5-12 years.

The 12th vintage of this sought after estate delivers alluring aromatics of mulberry and spice. With some appealing grippy tannins, this is intense yet wonderfully fresh and plush in style. Rich and polished with a hint of salinity on the finish, the increasing use of Cabernet Franc in the blend is paying dividends. 5-15 years.

A subtle nose of violets leads to a wealth of beautiful pure black cherry, black currant and plum fruit. Precise and polished in style, this is harmonious and balanced. Signed off by hints of liquorice and herb on the long finish, kudos to the team! 3-9 years.

Tasted in some exalted company from Pauillac, we were really impressed and delighted how this wine stood out from its peers. All the characteristics of the vintage were on show: dark mulberry fruit, ripeness and concentration, freshness and purity plus a bit of extra depth and length. Smooth and characterful, this wine should be in your cellar this year. 3-9 years.

Starts with a mulberry nose, then layers of cassis and raspberry on the entry. Soft, complex red-fruit gives way to ripe blackberry behind. This supple, fresh core of fruit is wrapped in silky, fine tannins, such a smooth texture, pretty and effortless at the same time as structured but not over-wrought. The length is exceptional, the whole oozes class and finesse. A wonderful wine. 5-15+ years

One of the last wines we tasted, so plenty to judge it by, and comparisons are good. Plenty of black fruit, some robust tannins and a chunky presence overall, with richness and ripeness coming through on the palate. Fine oak on the finish, this is firm but succulent and should age well. 5-15 years.

Really fine, apricoty nose this year, attractive and fresh. Palate has depth and weight, it's supple in the mouth with tempered acidity giving a clean finish. Good balance, fine all round, another good effort in 2022. 0-7 years.

Quite floral on the nose. Good, sweet fruit on the palate with nice texture, not too much weight for the style but chalky tannins and good persistence. Part of the Pedesclaux stable and reaping the benefits of top winemaking investment. Continues its good recent run. 5-10 years.

More improvement for this wine from the Borie-Manoux stable, now a good value Pauillac with plenty of power and chunk in its make-up, robust but with ripeness. Damson, blood orange and toasty oak all give plenty of character, but there's complexity and harmony too. Good effort. 3-9 years.

Attractive floral aromas, blackcurrant too. A blueberry centre with some tight tannins at present, then becomes long and quite luscious, still fresh yet with power on the finish. Juicy in nature, more structured than some but good potential. 5-15+ years

It seems that the hail couldn't stop the improvement that we've seen here in the last decade. Right next door to the much-lauded Montrose, Meyney shows the same intensity of black fruit, plenty of grippy tannins too, almost a menthol and clove cool side to it, tension in the finish and good persistence. A very good effort. 5-10 years.

Fresh and aromatic nose with hints of redcurrants leads to a palate full of red fruit, well balanced with fine tannins. 'A very nice vintage for us' says owner Mathieu Ternault'. 0-5 years

A big, long-term prospect with gutsy tannin, almost over-ripe but chock full of ripe damson fruit that needs the grip to work. Plenty of alcohol but balanced by the quality of fine tannin and density of fruit. Impressive, if powerful and somewhat atypical. 5-15 years.

Arguably one of the biggest wines of the visit, this powerhouse is full on from outset. Intense exotic aromatics of damson, violets and fleshy plum preceed a big, core of inky black and blue fruit. Built to last, the use of 70% new oak is inescapable, if you like your wine dense and oaky this is for you! 5-15+years.

Attractive, almost smoky nose from 56% Merlot this year. Good weight of ripe fruit backed by ripe if grippy tannins and nice balancing acidity. The whole builds to a big mouthful in the finish. Stylish and typically Saint-Estephe, another very good effort from a rising property, well worth a look if you want a keeper. 5-15 years.

Polished violet aromas give way to intense notes of black fruit and sweet cherry. Well structured with grippy tannins, this has more mineral tones than some and should age nicely. There's a vein of new oak running through and saline finish; its a solid effort. 3-9 years.

This Château has been firing on all cylinders of late, no doubt due to the talents of technical director Nicolas Audebert, and a wine that's going to flirt with perfection is their 2022 Château Rauzan-Ségla. Powerful notes of black cherries, currants, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and leafy herbs all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, concentrated texture, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. In a year when drought and position played a big part in the balance of the final wine, this Medoc property had some superb Merlot that has richness and structure without too much of either. Soft and fleshy with some chalky tannins, this is a lovely, easy wine for the short-term. 3-9 years.

Sweet and juicy fruit propped up with supple tannins giving it a very round feel, black cherry and plum fool in the mouth. This is wonderfully balanced and harmonious. Out of the Mouiex stable where the restraint in winemaking is noteworthy this year, a firm recommendation for a good value wine. 3-9 years.

Located at the highest point of Saint-Emilion this newcomer to our list is destined to become a firm favourite. Suitably deep purple in colour and oozing perfumed notes of black and red berries, spice and vanilla, its balanced, nicely structured with ripe, smooth tannins. Juicy and generous in style this finishes with lengthy notes of toast and sweet tobacco. An excellent debut from this ambitious property. 5-15 years.

Plenty of black cherry fruit with plum and a touch of violet on the nose, then more juicy black cherry on the palate. Very fresh and zippy, focused on the finish. A lovely line of clean fruit on a mid-weight texture, very drinkable. 0-5 years.

Attractive sweet apple, citrus, and fruit blossom on the nose, a stylishly silky and tense palate. Sourced from a range of parcels across Davayé and Prissé, and often picked on the early side, this is neatly balanced and full of drive, and combines both the easy-going and more structed side of Mâcon. En Chatenay is a north-facing slope in Vergisson and this is a very smart, precise example of Pouilly-Fuissé. A touch of smoke, citrus, and white flowers, there are mealy complexities and notes of patisserie over richer yellow fruits. Good density, some tension and nerve. Very smart. 3-10 years.

Great mineral depth to the nose and expressive yellow fruits with some spice. Rich on the attack, very intense with super mineral expression and some tension. Creamy and mealy, neatly concentrated and a long, tasty finish. Marc commented "the vineyard produces wines of density with good freshness and elegance, they drink young but can age too". 0-7 years.

Viognier from the northern Rhone with a little Roussanne to bring added freshness, this is rich and weighty with lovely texture on the palate, very elegant and fine with fresh, citrus tones of the Roussanne enhancing the rich Viognier. 0-3 years.

This is a very classic Cornas with dark, black raspberry fruit and liquorice, with some svelte tannins in support but never dominating, before the typical juicy, Cornas freshness comes through on the finish. 3-9 years.

The she-wolf but far from being aggressive this is intense, almost liqueur like and complex too. Super-sweet fruit but always elegant, some present but very ripe tannins and a fruity finish of blueberry, blackberry, damson and spice. Terrific. 5-15+ years.

Dark, plump and compact, ripe, spicy and stony. Its fresh with lovely ripe red fruits and white flowers. Creamy and dense, lovely acidity and a stony mineral core. A small 2.5 ha site centred around a natural spring , 98% Grenache (whole bunch), 1% Syrah, 1% Mourvedre aged for 9 months. Wonderful fragrant notes with a melange of pure fruit flavours, this is both delicate and concentrated, and very fine indeed. 3-9 years.

A fine mix of fruit, flowers and spice on the nose with plums, cassis and damson fruit, some typically present tannins but ripe and rounded in feel, the finish is fine and long with a note of bergamot amongst the ripe fruit. 3-7 years.

70+ year old vines always give great concentration to this cuvée, and this was furthered by the conditions as they cropped at just 25hl/ha. Dark, dense, and broad on the nose, a full-bodied palate continues the dark them with some sweet richness but also a cool elegance. There is a pleasing chalky grip, and the palate builds in structure but the depth of fruit gives a svelte feel and the tannins remain rather fine. Very long and ‘very Bourgogne’. 0-7 years.

45 year old vines and a smaller cuvée which typically produces 600 bottles. Cool, dark and focused on the nose, pretty compact and tight showing a little smoke and oak. Full-bodied and open but also seriously structured with some tension. Elegant, restrained, super concentration and notably fine tannins. Lots here but it will need time “c’est vrais serieux”. 3-9 years.

Generous, fresh nose with beautiful, dense fruit. Sweet-edged, silky attack, building in intensity with mineral depth and grip. It is fresh and animated with fine tannins and feels classical with a long creamy, cherry-tinged finish. 3-9 years.

A small cuvee from the north side of Corton. Attractive, neatly defined red and black fruits, a touch of cream and spice too. Pretty and expressive with a juicy and ample, sweet-framed palate. Silky smooth, lovely finesse and great length. 2-9 years.

Expressive, generous nose showing a mix of red and blue fruits with a great floral quality. Full and silky it shows a mineral richness with cool touches and bright acidity. This is lively and very long with a beautiful red fruit perfume. 5-20 years.

Broad and full with a sense of silk and cream and rich raspberry fruit. The palate shows freshness, a lovely sweetness and tannins that really build with lots of grip and mineral intensity. A concentrated tension suggests this will need time. 8-25 years.
