Château Calon-Ségur, 3e cru classé Saint-Estèphe 2022 En Primeur - Case of 6

£612.00

One of the stars of the commune that keeps delivering. A most lovely nose of cassis, violet, blackberry and blueberry fool cascades onto the palate backed by classy, creamy oak. Good grip that balances the richness of fruit, quite chalky on the finish with warmth and good length. Feels like a keeper. 5-15+ years.

Château Calon-Ségur

Calon-Ségur was bought by Georges Gasqueton and his uncle, Charles Hanappier in 1894. It remained in the family with Philippe Capbern Gasqueton as administrator until 2012. During the 1940s and 50s the estate's reputation soared.

It is the most northerly in St-Estèphe and maintains its standing. Today, Château Calon-Ségur is owned by the Suravenir company, subsidiary of the banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa headed by Jean-Pierre Denis. Huge investment is taking place with substantial replanting in the vineyard and rebuilding of the chai.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
