Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, 5e cru classé Pauillac 2022 En Primeur - Case of 6

£358.50

Gorgeous blackberry jelly nose with a touch of spice. Velvety with a complex mix of classic clarety flavours on the palate. Tobacco and cedar are in the background at this stage, but that great GPL structure of long, fine, silky tannins underpin some lush fruit. Restrained in the finish yet very persistent. Length and precision, the hallmarks of another great Pauillac at a decent price. 5-15 years.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc with mentions going back to the Middle Ages. It was owned by one family for much of its life, from the 16th century to 1920.

Today it is in the hands of the Borie family after Jean-Eugène Borie bought it in 1978 and immediately installed his son, François-Xavier, to run the property. François-Xavier now leaves the day to day running of the property to his daughter Emeline. The estate is about 90 ha of which 58 are planted with vines and is possibly the only one with the same boundries today as during the 1855 classification. As well as the Grand Vin they also make an excellent second wine under the Lacoste Borie label.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
